The individual in this role supports the work of RNs and Physicians. The Care Team Assistant is responsible for providing a range of direct care and indirect care services to support the care of patients and their families during their journey in the ED. This includes, and not limited to, communication with patients/families, assisting patients to diagnostic imaging, comfort measures, procedure assistance and navigation assistance, and collecting vital signs. These services are provided under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) in accordance with their designated college\'s supervision guidelines. The type of supervision (direct or indirect) will depend on the complexity of the task or procedure being assigned, the stability of the patient and the skill level of the Care Team Assistant performing it.Hours of WorkRotating shifts
