Samaritan Place, an Emmanuel Health organization, provides long-term care to over 100 residents. In tradition of Catholic social justice teaching and service, we respond to the unmet needs of the vulnerable and the communities we serve through compassionate innovative service and partnerships.
The Care Services Manager will contribute to the development of knowledge and the improvement of practice at Samaritan Place working in collaboration with other Care Service Managers. This will be accomplished through the demonstration of leadership and the modeling of professionalism and accountability in all interactions with care team members. The Care Services Manager will conduct in-depth assessments of care practice situations or systems and provide for the implementation of evidence based best practice. The Care Services Manager is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of high standards of resident care and may assume delegated administrative, clinical and educational responsibilities. The Care Services Managers specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, participating in policy and procedure implementation, monitoring standards of practice, monitoring quality of care indicators, planning, developing, implementing and maintaining quality improvement initiatives. The Care Services Manager is also responsible for the direct supervision of the Licensed Practical Nursing complement, and Continuing Care Aides including attendance management strategy, training and contributing to performance management and disciplinary processes.
Qualifications:
Requires a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing and Continuing Education is preferred
Current CRNS registration and license to practice
Experience:
Three to five years' experience in nursing roles, ideally in healthcare, long-term care, or palliative settings.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Understanding of the mission and values of Catholic healthcare
Understanding of the nursing process and principles of adult learning
Demonstrated skill in teaching staff
Experience in developing work standards/guidelines and programs/resources for staff in the areas of planning and implementation, quality monitoring and evaluation
+ Knowledge of applicable legislation
+ Knowledge of the healthcare system in Saskatchewan
+ Has demonstrated ability to coach and develop others
+ Exemplifies ethical practices, professionalism and personal integrity Promotes innovation, guides change and is committed to continuous improvement
Demonstrates commitment to a diverse, culturally competent and culturally safe health system and representative workforce
Demonstrates and is recognized for strategic and operational leadership that includes articulation of mission, vision and strategy and charts a path forward

Is committed to delivering on patient and family centered care

Excellent interpersonal and active listening skills
Knowledge of diverse cultural and religious practices
Skilled in grief support, conflict resolution, and emotional care
Proficiency in written and verbal communication
Pay Range
: Pay band 6 as per Provincial Out-of-Scope Employees Pay Schedule | Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations Inc.
