Position Summary
The Car Porter:
Moves vehicles to the detail center, service shop or lot for vehicles being serviced.
Ensures that they are aware of everything around them when moving the vehicle; protecting the vehicle, equipment, themselves and other people around them.
Runs miscellaneous errands for the dealership.
Assists in ensuring the neat appearance of the dealership (e.g., picks up litter, shovels snow off vehicles, wipes off showroom vehicles, cleans offices, windows).
Assists in directing traffic for service events.
What the Worker is Like?
The Car Porter:
Has maintained a safe driving record and has a valid driver's license.
Works closely with Service Consultants, Technicians, Shop Foremen and Service Manager
Willing to take guidance from others, but can be a self starter as needed
Is able to communicate with customers in a courteous and effective manner.
Must be task-oriented and well organized.
What the Work is Like?
The work of the Car Porter:
Always drives vehicles safely.
Involves driving and walking long distances.
May involve lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy equipment.
Requires the use of safety goggles, boots, rubber gloves, and proper clothing when necessary
