Our captive actuarial practice is looking for an intern who will support the delivery of various types of actuarial analyses to a large portfolio of captive and self-insured clients.

WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE EXCITING?

Learning about the dynamic world of captive insurance.

Working on a wide range of projects for clients across all industries sectors, addressing numerous P&C insurance coverages from traditional lines to unique captive o\xef\xac\x80erings.

Communicating to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Being part of a large captive management and strategic consulting team creating analytical models and cutting-edge solutions to address the risks of our clients.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPCT?

Use of your analytical skills within a team environment to analyze complex problems and develop workable solutions.

Assist in actuarial projects with a focus on loss reserving, loss forecasting, and cash flow projections.

Other projects you may assist in during your internship include: captive feasibility studies, premium allocation studies, risk transfer opinions, and capital modeling.

Compile data, develop spreadsheet exhibits, perform basic analysis, and summarize internet research.

Prepare written reports and Statements of Actuarial Opinion describing results of analyses.

Develop simulation models and review results with senior colleagues.

YOUR PROFILE

Current 3rd year student pursuing a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or any related field.

Pursuing an actuarial designation with at least 2 exams passed.

Relevant prior work experience is an asset.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Strong communication and presentation skills: an ability to translate complex technical analysis and concepts into easily understandable terms.

Curious and proactive mindset: desire and ability to lead internal initiatives and projects to completion.

A collaborative, team-oriented individual with effective interpersonal skills.

Strong ability to be organized and detail oriented.

LOCATION

This position is fully remote however the successful candidate must reside in Canada and be able to work Eastern Time hours.
