Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Captain to operate our 37-passenger catamaran and 12-passenger cabin cruiser for wildlife viewing tours in Tofino. The Captain will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the vessel's operation, including navigation, crew management, and compliance with safety regulations. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of mechanical systems related to the vessel.

Responsibilities

Command the vessel and ensure the safety of all crew members and passengers. Navigate the vessel using appropriate navigational tools and techniques. Maintain compliance with maritime laws, regulations, and safety protocols. Supervise crew members, providing guidance and support as needed. Conduct regular inspections of the vessel's mechanical systems to ensure proper functioning. Manage emergency procedures effectively and efficiently. Maintain accurate logs of operations, including navigation records and maintenance activities. Communicate effectively with port authorities, other vessels, and team members.

Experience

Proven experience as a Captain or in a similar leadership role within maritime operations. Strong mechanical knowledge related to rigging and vessel systems is preferred. Familiarity with navigation tools and maritime regulations is essential. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead a diverse team.

Pay: $37.00-$50.00 per hour
