You can still apply if you think you're a fit.Job Requirements of Capex Engineer:WHAT YOU WILL DOThe Capex Engineer will work closely with the Corporate Director, Engineering to provide guidance and oversight for continuous improvement and growth initiatives within multiple teams. Your role will involve creating a framework to streamline processes, supporting OPEX initiatives, and developing process control standards across our sites and business units.In this role, you will:

  • Oversee the standards for capital processes, systems, and reporting on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Maintain multiyear lists for obsolescence and infrastructure, developing input hierarchies and ensuring integrity standards.
  • Manage the multiyear list for EH&S capital projects, creating a scoring hierarchy and maintaining system integrity.
  • Administer project closeout procedures and conduct post-project audits.
  • Guide and oversee projects up to $1 million, covering 90% of the annual capital budget.
  • Lead engineering projects at multi-site, head office, or corporate levels.
  • Oversee the corporate capital portfolio and governance.
  • Ensure the integrity of the Capital Policy.
  • Govern the prioritization of annual plant capital projects.
  • Manage multiyear capital plans with a focus on safety and infrastructure.
  • Administer the clarity capital system.
  • Establish a network and standards for Engineering Managers.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience working with large budgets in a cost-saving capacity
  • A forward-thinking, curious mindset
  • Knowledge of the Papermaking Process is considered an asset
  • Process leader and/or project management experience in an Operations environment is an asset
