Title: Capability Development Manager - Oncology

Our Position

The Capability Development team is a group of learning and performance experts focused on enhancing and empowering field force excellence. We assess, design, and partner on initiatives to optimize field force operations, capabilities, and performance. Our ambition is to actively develop the performance and potential of ourselves and others. We believe in optimizing learning opportunities beyond the traditional workshop format and strive to integrate a micro-learning approach that will enable our sales force to learn in the flow of work.

The Capability Development Team leads the development of enterprise-wide capabilities in addition to brand specific learning initiatives. We partner across the organization to build capabilities in the areas of scientific knowledge, selling skills, customer engagement and performance coaching to support the launch of new products and ensure continued success throughout the product\xe2\x80\x99s life cycle.

The CapDev Manager will work with the cross functional brand teams to optimize field force performance and drive desired business results for the brands. Your roles and responsibilities:

Drive the Capability Development strategy within your brand teams and project assignments to meet the overarching departmental vision. This includes but is not limited to the following:

Uncover and Assess \xe2\x80\x93 conduct regular partner needs assessments to identify prioritized capability gaps; seek performance improvement opportunities; be proactive, inquisitive, and collaborative

Strategic Planning \xe2\x80\x93 leverage the Performance Partner Framework methodology to develop robust annual capability plans which integrate the key tasks, thinking and roles required to achieve the growth ambitions of our strategic brands in Canada; explore and develop solutions with impact; challenge, inspire and collaborate; review and adjust the plan on a quarterly basis

Innovate \xe2\x80\x93 use emerging technologies and experiment with new learning methodologies to build positive learning interventions, in cooperation with cross-functional collaborators

Implement and Evaluate \xe2\x80\x93 blend experiences and formal solutions to achieve the desired outcome; establish and measure critical metrics; summarize and report data to the team and other internal customers to demonstrate how the performance solution impacted business outcomes; implement with excellence.

Sustain and Learn \xe2\x80\x93 sustain development gains and learn for continuous improvement; extend, embed, and improve

Be a strategic performance partner to the brand team; inform strategic and tactical brand planning; translate the business strategy into performance requirements for the field force

Maintain in-depth knowledge of market landscape, therapeutic area, and brand strategies in your portfolio

Understand the business and ensure alignment to company and brand goals, performance targets, and key results

Hold final accountability for all content and learning assets; follow policies and ensure compliance guidelines and accountabilities are clearly represented in all commercial learning material

Enable new joiners to reach their full performance potential and provide a great customer experience by helping them acquire foundational therapeutic knowledge, selling skills and capabilities to use the internal sales tools and systems

Demonstrate entrepreneurial attitude by using in-house resources and manage third party suppliers as appropriate

Model AZ values and behaviors consistent with organizational culture

Your base qualifications:

Bachelor\'s degree

Proven experience in pharmaceutical sales or healthcare-related role.

Job-related experience demonstrating knowledge of adult learning principles, and excellence in the development, implementation and evaluation of learning plans and interventions across in-person and virtual/hybrid environments

Consistent track record to influence at different levels. Proficiency in working in a matrix environment

Experience in leading change and innovative initiatives and processes; helps others navigate through ambiguity

Project management skills with proven track record to craft, lead and implement projects, including developing project metrics and outcome evaluation tools

Advanced writing and verbal communication skills in articulating complex ideas in an easy-to-understand manner to all levels of the organization through blended approaches

Expertise in oncology and new product launches is preferred

Bilingualism is preferred.

Some travel is required

Excellent consulting skills with ability to assess and diagnose a situation, generate solutions and influence at multiple levels

Ability to synthesize and communicate messages to different audiences

Breadth of experience is highly valued
