360?kids has been a leader in the delivery of innovative support services for over 30 years as we work to improve the lives of homeless and at-risk youth and families in York Region. Reporting to: Marketing & Communications Manager
Approx. Start Date: May 13th
Location: 80F Centurion Drive, Markham
The Digital Marketing and Communications Assistant will be responsible for assisting and working alongside the Resource Development team to generate revenue and awareness for the organization through the process of digital marketing and online social media presence and special events.
This is a position to be funded through Canada Summer Jobs 2023. The successful candidate must be a post-secondary education student who will be returning to full-time studies in the Fall in order to qualify.
Specific Accountabilities will include: Volunteer Development; Marketing and Digital Campaigns; Annual Campaign Support; Event Execution; and Donor Database Management.
Job Duties:
Communications & Marketing
Work with cross-functional teams to create program specific videos as a tool to enhance program and services knowledge.
Create digital marketing resources to use in online presence and social platforms.
Review community content and responsibly interact.
Propose content for social media outlets for the organization.
Create content calendar and schedule for social media posts.
Update content on website.
Special Events
Aid in the planning and organization of special events internally and with 3rd party(donors, funders, volunteers)
o Help organize requirements and work with internal and external teams
o Be available to volunteer to after hours and weekend events (in lieu of regular work hours)
Supervision & Mentoring
o Weekly coaching and check-ins with manager.
o Creation of role goals and timelines, as well as overall career skills alignment.
o Weekly and monthly review of goals and timelines.
o 360 peer and manager evaluation, learning to receive and give constructive feedback.
Requirements:
Must be currently enrolled in post-secondary school, preferable with a focus on marketing, journalism and/or not-for profit segment.
Strong project management and multi-task skills.
Knowledge of and experience with social media platforms (videos, post, reels, etc.) and website editing.
Strong Team Player .
Ability to work independently and be self motivated .
Confidence public speaker and in front of camera.
Comfortable with MS Office environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Willingness to work some non-traditional hours, as required to support events.
Valid driver?s license and access to a vehicle.
