We are currently seeking an Assistant General Counsel, Labour & Employment to join our legal department. Reporting to the General Counsel, this is an exciting opportunity to work as a strategic partner with the business on a broad range of challenging labour and employment matters while leading a team of professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of legal professionals to support business units and cross-functional initiatives in relation to a wide range of employment and labour law matters.
• Provide the company with legal advice on key/complex matters, identifying risks and mitigation options, and supporting the business in achieving its goals.
• Form strong partnerships to advise and engage business leaders at varying levels, often navigating situations without precedent

Qualifications:

• LL.B. or J.D
• Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
• 10+ years experience, both firm and in-house
• 4+ years experience leading legal teams
• Demonstrated subject-matter expertise in Labour & Employment
• Humble and collaborative; a demonstrated problem-solver
• Passionate about coaching, mentoring, and building strong business relationships
• Highly adaptable and a life-long learner
