The Role
Our Campus Receptionist is responsible for overseeing main reception, providing a warm welcome and help for internal and external custumers, including wayfinding, recruitment information, arranging tours, and associated customer needs. The Campus Receptionist will work closely with the Dean of Skilled Trades and the Assistant to the Dean of Skilled Trades to meet the needs of NWP Departments and the needs of external customers.
This position is the first point of contact with students, staff, and members of the public at NWP's Fairview Campus for in-person and telephone inquiries. It requires initiative, a strong focus on customer service, and an understanding of client needs as well as scope of work within each department at NWP.
There is a requirement for this position to work outside the normal hours of work and/or work hours beyond regularly scheduled hours to meet organizational support needs of on-campus meetings and events.

Responsibilities
Performing administrative duties at a confidential level, including reviewing, composing, and typing correspondence and other related materials; making meeting arrangements, scheduling appointments, maintaining calendars, travel arrangements; filing, tracking documents, mail, data entry and report preparation.
Greeting in-person visitors and addressing or referring inquiries from staff, students, faculty, and the community.
Responding to general telephone inquiries and addressing or referring individuals to appropriate resources.
Presenting a professional and friendly image of NWP that is innovative and responsive to the needs of our customers.
Support recruitment opportunities and future students
Ensuring customer service is continually improving and any customer complaints are resolved in a timely fashion.
Coordinating support of campus events and activities (these events may occur outside normal working hours).
Reconciling expense claims, payment requests, travel reimbursements, invoices and internal transfers.
Maintaining supplementary supplies for the department.
External rentals - including providing customer information and assistance, contracts and bookings
Assisting other NWP Departments within scope of work as required and approved by supervisor.
The successful candidate will have Post-Secondary education, with a certificate in Office Administration or equivalent and 6 months of related customer service and/or administrative work experience.
Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as Zoom videoconferencing and telephone systems.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills; ability to prioritize time-sensitive tasks.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to build strong relationships across the organization with a high level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
Event support experience is considered an asset.
