Freedom Church is a vibrant and growing congregation rooted in the Free Methodist Church in Canada. Our mission is to revitalize, disciple, and bring community impact--a calling we have embraced in New Westminster and are now expanding to our second campus in Kamloops, BC. As a multisite church, we operate with a shared vision and unified values, while recognizing that each campus must express that vision in ways that are locally meaningful. The Kamloops campus will carry the same DNA as our New Westminster location, while developing ministry that fits the unique needs, culture, and rhythms of the Kamloops community.
Position Summary:
The Freedom Church Kamloops Campus Pastor will serve as the pastoral leader and primary communicator for our Kamloops location. This person will lead with a heart for local ministry, guided by the mission and culture of Freedom Church. They will empower local teams, shepherd the congregation, and execute Sunday gatherings and discipleship initiatives while collaborating closely with the Lead Pastor and central leadership team.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Spiritual Leadership & Teaching (30%)
Serve as the primary Sunday communicator (live with support from Lead Pastor & teaching team) Lead weekly services, integrating Freedom Church's culture of worship, Word, and response Provide pastoral care, including prayer, visitation, weddings, and funerals
2. Campus Oversight (30%)
Develop and lead local volunteer teams across hospitality, worship, production, and other ministries Create and maintain healthy discipleship pathways (Freedom Tracks, groups, teams) Engage in community outreach and local partnerships unique to Kamloops Implement budgets for campus and ministries with support from Treasurer and Lead Pastor
3. Staff and Systems Leadership (20%)
Collaborate with Freedom Church Central on communications, branding, budgets, and technology Uphold operational rhythms and leadership standards consistent with the New Westminster campus Raise up and mentor future leaders and ministry volunteers
4. Vision Alignment (20%)
Implement Freedom Church's mission in a way that reflects the Kamloops context Participate in cross-campus leadership meetings and vision retreats Report on metrics, wins, and needs to the Lead Pastor and Board
Qualifications:
A growing, vibrant personal relationship with Jesus
Agreement with the Free Methodist Church in Canada's doctrine and Freedom Church's vision
Proven experience in full-time pastoral leadership (3+ years preferred)
Strong communicator and team builder with cultural adaptability
Formal theological education or ministry training from an accredited Bible college, seminary, or equivalent (degree preferred but not required)
Credentialed or willing to pursue credentialing in the Free Methodist Church in Canada
