Job Description


Reporting to the Camp General Supervisor, you will be part of the Energy and Infrastructure Department. They ensure the efficient management of various daily / weekly camp planning and occupancy related activities. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle\xe2\x80\x99s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Ensure current employees and new employees for each department are tagged properly in the FLO and communicate directly with departments to ensure compliance in this regard.
  • Daily coordination with Nunavut Protocol agents to ensure camp occupancy limits are respected and to manage all last-minute requests.
  • Approve or deny go show requests daily and validate them before hand.
  • Book rooms in the system for weekly arrivals in both camps.
  • Prepare daily arrival lists for the front desks in both camps.
  • Prepare daily southbound seating arrangements for the plane respecting a variety of policies / and accommodating those with special permissions.
  • Post weekly plane departure lists on the wall for the residents in front desk area.
  • Assign all night shift rooms in the system on a regular basis:
-Reaching out to supervisors in advance to retrieve their night shift lists.-Place night shift workers strategically in the camp for comfort and convenience.-Send lists of current night shift workers rooms to the guest services leader to be posted at entrance of each wing.
  • Assign permanent rooms as required for both Meadowbank and Amaruq.
  • Manage the Meadowbank front desk email inbox and a multitude of resident online and in person inquiries / comments.
  • Coordinate with the E+I maintenance team for all room related issues.
  • Prepare arrivals and departures planning for Baker Lake Guest House staff.
  • Fill in as Camp Supervisor as needed (vacations)
  • Helping to train Inuit leaders for the front desk role, and various administrative tasks.
  • Develop succession to cover camp optimization vacation coverage.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the hotel and hospitality industry would be ideal.
  • Experience working with Nomadis Camp Management Software will be considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment; Previous northern experience an asset.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.YOUR WORK SCHEDULE:
  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
