Position Purpose Summary: The Camp Generalist will be responsible to cover any Camp Staff position as assigned by the Program Director. This is a multi-faceted position that will balance responsibilities between Program, Maintenance, and Kitchen duties at the discretion of the Program Director. This is a fixed term position at 40 hours per week. There are three positions available. Start Date: July 3, 2023
End Date: August 20, 2023

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Program-related tasks:

• 
  
  • Actively participate in camp program.
  • Support program staff in supervision of campers.

• 
  
  • Work closely with Program Director in assigned duties.

• Kitchen-related tasks:

• 
  
  • Work with Head Cook and/or Hospitality Coordinator in preparing meals and other assigned duties.
  • Assist in the constant cleanliness and sanitation of freezers, walk-in fridges, stove and food preparation surfaces.
  • Carry out dining room and kitchen duties related to serving meals in a dignified and orderly manner. This includes set up/clean up before/after any meal.

  • Remove waste, dirty dishes, etc. after meals.
  • Keep both dining hall and kitchen clean & sanitary (tables/countertops, chairs, floors, etc.)
  • Serve evening snack as assigned.

• Maintenance-related tasks:

• 
  
  • Clean/sanitize high traffic areas: like Somer\xe2\x80\x99s Hall (bathrooms, misc. surfaces), Urwin Hall, camper cabins that are occupied by staff, boy\xe2\x80\x99s and girl\xe2\x80\x99s staff cabins, etc.

• 
  
  • Report situations requiring maintenance to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain the supply of toilet paper, soap, hand sanitizer, and paper towel in all bathrooms.
  • Ensure that the shed and garage are clean, organized and fully stocked. Notify Maintenance Manager in a timely manner when supplies need to be ordered

• Participate in camp clean-up at the end of each week.
• Attend all staff devotions (unless excused by DCYS\xe2\x80\x99).

• Maintain and enforce the rules and regulations of the camp at all times.
• Broaden the interests of the campers and be innovative in offering unique online activities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Camp experience. Experience working with children and youth.

PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:

• Maintain a responsible level of maturity and leadership.
• Be familiar with Summer Staff Manual, and all procedures and resources.
• Be loyal to the aims, policies, and regulations of the camp.

• Be flexible and have a good disposition.
• Perform any task beyond those assigned as required.
