Day Camp Coordinator

The Day Camp Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising all day camp activities offered to children at the Centre du Sablon. This person ensures a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment in line with the Centre's community development values and goals.

Main Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate all day camp activities (programming, schedules, outings, special events). Recruit, train, and supervise the camp team (counselors, assistants, volunteers). Manage the daily operations of the camp (attendance, safety, communication with parents). Collaborate with the Director of Community Development to ensure activities align with the Centre du Sablon's mission. Manage the camp budget and necessary material resources. Evaluate programs and suggest improvements for future sessions.

Desired Profile

Education

Degree in Recreation or a related field (e.g., Education). DAFA certification is an asset. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software. Knowledge of Ludik and IC3 software is an asset.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience in day camp management. Experience in team management is a significant asset.

Professional Skills and Qualities

Relevant experience in camp coordination or youth animation. Leadership, strong organizational skills, and teamwork ability. Excellent communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues. Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in recreational camp settings. Education or recreation training is an asset. Bilingualism (excellent spoken and written French and English).
