Calibration Technician

Job Description

As the Calibration Technician, the successful candidate's responsibility will be to support our production teams in all Winnipeg operations. This position works closely with all production departments on daily calibrating of precision measuring tools, scheduling, batch system controls, and shelf-life systems.

This position is a mixed office and shop floor role, and related tasks and activities include, but are not limited to, use of precision measuring tools, subcontracting calibration of external processes, scheduling equipment downtime for calibration procedures, arranging third parties for fixed equipment calibration, monitoring and purchasing of shelf-life products. This position is also not in a typical office environment, and you will have exposure to varying noise levels, machinery, dust and dirt. The core customers and vendors this role supports are mainly related to aviation and agricultural manufacturing. This is a full-time position that typically reports to the Director of Engineering& Quality Assurance.

Duties & Responsibilities:



Perform in-house calibrations of precision measuring tools Scheduling and subcontracting of external precision measuring tool calibrations including temporary solutions to eliminate production impact. Woking with multiple production managers to schedule the annual calibrations of fixed equipment by third parties. Monitoring, control and processing of shelf-life program, including the removals of expired product Distribution and monitoring of vendor survey process Calibration and verification of temperature systems including stress relief ovens Record keeping of work performed and time spent Working with Engineering and Quality Assurance on system aspects and successful deployment of initiatives Working with purchasing on acquisition and replacement of tools and product that have reached end of useful life

Education, Skills & Experience:



Minimum High School Education Valid class 5 driver's licence and ability to travel between buildings Ability to use a variety of precision measuring tools and instruments is considered a major asset Strong communication and organizational skills, with an aptitude for dealing with technical and functional features of products Experience with Production, Scheduling and Purchasing considered an asset Experience in a manufacturing setting (aerospace, agriculture, automotive, etc.) preferred Ability to work under pressure and with a high level of accuracy and detail
Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision

Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
