Calf Manager/ Assistant Herdsperson

Job Description
We are a large robotic dairy located 15 minutes north of Stratford looking for an individual to work as a Calf Manager and Assistant Herdsperson. This is not an entry level position; experience caring for and treating calves or cows is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
Manage the health and well-being of over 100 calves, including early illness detection and prompt medication administration. Collaborate with management, herdsperson, and vet to develop and implement protocols for optimal calf health, including vaccination and weaning. Maintain cleanliness of calf tools, bedding pens, and assist in moving calves as necessary. Assist herdsperson with cow health management, including calving assistance, milking with the robotic system, vaccination, dry-off assistance, and illness identification and treatment. Assume responsibility for animal health in the absence of the herdsperson.
Additional Duties:
Clean robot rooms, scrape crossovers, fetch milk cows, operate a skid steer, and perform pressure washing tasks.
Work Schedule:
Morning shifts start at 6 AM, with evening shifts ending around 8 PM. Generally there will be three morning shifts and one evening shift a week. Alternating weekends are expected
Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation. Passion for working with animals, patience, efficiency, and good time management skills. Physical fitness to meet the demands of the job, including standing, lifting, and bending.
