Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Cake Maker to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating beautiful, delicious cakes, with experience in food preparation and decorating. This role involves preparing a variety of decorating cakes to customer specifications, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. The Cake Maker will contribute to providing exceptional customer service by delivering visually appealing and tasty products for special occasions and everyday treats.

Responsibilities

Prepare cake batter, fillings, and frostings according to recipes and customer specifications Decorate cakes with piping, fondant, and other techniques to create attractive designs Ensure all baked goods meet quality standards and presentation expectations Follow food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area Maintain inventory of ingredients and supplies, notifying management of shortages or needs Collaborate with team members to ensure timely production

Skills

Proven experience in cake decorating and food preparation within a bakery or restaurant setting Strong knowledge of baking techniques, food handling, and safety regulations Excellent attention to detail and precision in decorating work Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality Good communication skills for understanding customer requests and collaborating with team members Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and basic cooking skills Experience in the food industry with a focus on baking or pastry arts is preferred Ability to adhere to food safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week
