Mrs. Dunster's has been a family tradition throughout the Maritimes and Maine for 50 years. We are a local, family owned and operated fresh bakery, with bakery operations in Sussex, NB, and Moncton, NB. We are seeking a versatile and customer-focused individual to fill the role of Cake Decorator. In this position, you will not only showcase your creative cake decorating skills but also play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, managing orders, generating quotes, and overseeing inventory.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Utilize artistic skills to decorate cakes according to established designs or custom specifications. Apply various icing techniques, fondant, and other decorative elements to create visually appealing and unique cake designs. Take and process customer orders, ensuring accuracy in details such as flavor, size, and design specifications. Provide detailed and accurate quotes for custom cake orders. Offer recommendations and suggestions for design elements based on customer preferences and event themes. Efficiently manage the entire order process, from initial inquiry to order completion. Regularly conduct inventory checks and report any shortages or quality issues. Adhere to hygiene and sanitation standards in the workplace, including the proper cleaning and maintenance of decorating tools and equipment.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Cake Decorator, preferably in a professional bakery or similar environment. Strong artistic and creative abilities with a keen eye for detail. Knowledge of various cake decoration techniques, including piping, fondant application, and sugar crafting. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to generate accurate quotes for custom cake orders. Effective time management and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Flexibility to adapt to different design requests and work with various themes.

Pay: From $15.65 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
