Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting daily cafe operations, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, strong multitasking skills, and a commitment to food safety and sanitation standards. Previous restaurant or food service experience is preferred but not required. This position offers an engaging work environment where you can develop your skills in food preparation, cashiering, and customer service.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve food items according to established recipes and standards Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for accurate order processing and cash handling Manage customer orders efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments using POS systems Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, kitchen equipment, and dining spaces in compliance with food safety regulations Assist with food handling duties, including assembling orders and restocking supplies Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities Ensure timely service during busy hours by managing multiple tasks effectively Support team members as needed to ensure smooth cafe operations

Skills

Experience in food preparation, food service, or restaurant environments is highly desirable Proficiency with POS systems, especially Micros POS, for cashiering and order management Strong time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently during peak hours Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices in the food industry Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Kitchen experience or prior food industry background is a plus Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and assist customers with upselling menu items
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour
