We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while ensuring efficient service and high-quality food preparation. Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation and ensure that all items are prepared according to safety and quality standards. Operate the POS system, including Micros POS, to process customer orders accurately and efficiently. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Handle cash transactions responsibly and accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining areas to comply with health regulations. Support serving staff during busy periods by assisting with food delivery and upselling menu items to enhance customer experience. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations throughout the cafe.

Skills

Proficient in food preparation techniques and food handling practices. Experience with POS systems, particularly Micros POS, is preferred but not required. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy environment. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests. Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices is essential. Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and order processing. Previous restaurant experience or familiarity with the food industry is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
