Position Overview


Custom Metal Contracting Ltd. is seeking an experienced mechanical designer/CNC programmer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and modifying sheet metal designs and NC programs for manufacturability, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and functionality. This position is ideal for an experienced CNC programmer with a background in sheet metal manufacturing, who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to delivering excellence.

Key Responsibilities



Design and program detailed sheet metal parts and assemblies using SolidWorks, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability. Produce precise flat patterns and engineering drawings to guide manufacturing and assembly processes. Collaborate with customers to capture project requirements and provide technical support throughout the design process. Actively participate in design reviews, offering insights on manufacturability and potential design solutions. Work closely with engineers, project managers and production staff to ensure that all designs align with specifications, quality standards, and project timelines. Organize and maintain comprehensive quality control documentation, ensuring all project files are up to date, traceable and accessible.

Qualifications



Proven experience in SolidWorks with a focus in sheet metal design. Certification in drafting, engineering, or a related field is preferred. In-depth knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes and materials. Expertise in press brake and panel bender programming Experience using Excel design table configurations and equation driven global variables in SolidWorks would be a valuable asset. Demonstrated experience in customer collaboration and involvement in design reviews. Strong attention to detail, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic environment.
