We are currently seeking a Civil Technologist for our Markham, Ontario IBI Group office to assist with our continued project workload. This role provides an opportunity to work in a medium-sized office with ties to the resources and projects of a large international, multi-disciplinary consulting firm. The opportunity will involve work primarily in Municipal Infrastructures, but will include varied and extensive project work in all our Civil Engineering practice areas leading a multi-disciplinary team including water resources, planning, building and landscape architecture.

Most of the things you'll work on:

• Providing civil engineering design and technical support municipal infrastructure, including: Civil 3D design, modeling, calculations, quantity take-offs, drawing review, etc
• Assisting in the preparation of feasibility studies, preliminary design, contract documents, etc
• Coordinating, working with and assisting fellow project team members
• Undertaking such other tasks required to advance and complete work for municipal projects
• Assign work and oversee the drafting and design output for junior Technologists

Qualifications

You'll need to have:

• A graduate of a Civil Engineering Technology program
• 7+ years of design experience
• Expert skills with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStarion Open Roads
• Strong working knowledge of Excel, WORD, and Outlook
• Strong aptitude for learning new software and design skills
• Experience in the production of municipal servicing, road, designs and drawings
• Strong verbal and writing communication in English
• Ability to produce high-quality work under changing circumstances
• An open mind to design options and a keen eye for detail
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Committed to ongoing personal and professional development

We are currently in a work from home model during COVID-19, but when we do return to the office we're located on the 3rd floor of 8133 Warden Avenue, our Markham office in the Remington Corporate Centre is situated in the heart of Canada's High-Tech Capital, Downtown Markham.
