Job Description

Vistech Design and Construction is looking experienced Telecommunications CAD Technicians, to apply to our design department. Candidates would be responsible for the creation of telecommunication AutoCAD Municipal Consent drawings in various municipalities throughout Ontario. You will also be responsible for preparing HLD and Construction packages for various ISPs.

This position is Hybrid, please only apply if you are able to physically come into the office. You will be required to report to our Woodbridge office 2 days per week, or as discussed with your manager, and requires close interaction with designers, managers, and clients to ensure the timely and accurate completion of project cycles.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare permit drawings (Municipal Consent drawings) using AutoCAD for underground Telecom Projects. Prepare 3rdParty Aerial permit drawings using AutoCAD for underground Telecom Projects. Prepare High Level designs (HLD's) to follow customer designs Prepare Construction packages (IFC) Complete and submit utility permit applications. Track multiple permits from various municipalities. Projects may include Specialty permit application drawings such as Railway crossings, pipeline crossings MTO Encroachments and Creek crossings. Train and support Junior drafters on design and construction drawings. Quality Check permit plans to ensure Municipal standards and customer standards are maintained. Review and resolve utility clearance conflicts. Perform other tasks as requested by your manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Architectural Drafting, Civil or Electrical Engineering is preferred. 3-5 Years experience in Telecommunication Permits drafting is required. Advanced user of AutoCAD 2D, efficient use of Paper Space / Model Space. Experience resolving utility conflicts is required. Experience with Client / Customer interaction is preferred. Strong, communication, interpersonal, problem solving and multi-tasking skills. Microsoft Office skills. Adaptable to different styles of permit drawings Experience tracking and scheduling multiple projects, and able to adjust schedules as required.. Team player Fluent in the English language, both written and oral

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
