Position Overview:

The CAD team plays a key design support role enabling Art Metz to successfully deliver streamlined and efficient project success and client satisfaction. The position works individually and with other CAD team members to complete assigned projects in a timely manner and maintain. The position must also work occasionally with external stakeholders to ensure project success. The position will work closely with the CAD Team Lead who provides oversight to the CAD team and is the main liaison between the team and the General Manager and participates on the Art Metz Management Team.

Responsibilities and Duties:

As an active member of the CAD team, the incumbent will:

Develop CAD design concepts, drawings and specifications individually or collaboratively, as required;

Work with clients and other departments to provide product-based design solutions that meet client requirements;

Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes;

Ensure established file structure protocols are followed;

Monitor job summary information for all active projects;

Resolve supplier deficiencies and warranty issues with other Art Metz team members;

Read, interpret and schedule activities and timing of all inputs needed to collect and submit for RFI, RFP, and RFQ requests;

Estimate projects based on 20/20 estimating and ordering software and procedures; and

Process orders, as required.

Qualifications:

The CAD Technician position will have the following education, experience, skills and abilities:

A post-secondary education in Environmental Design or Drafting/CAD;

Some experience in CAD in a work setting;

An understanding of functionality and design of architectural products;

A basic understanding of building codes and requirements;

Experience and demonstrated skills using a range of computer applications including, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), AutoCAD, Adobe, Dropbox;

Excellent time management skills;

Excellent communication (written, verbal, visual), collaboration and problem-solving skills;

Demonstrated ability to be proactive, self-motivated and handle competing priorities under strict timelines while maintaining superior attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
