We are seeking a skilled CAD Programmer to join our metal-processing company. The ideal candidate will have education and / or experience with CAD/CAM, PEP Systems, or other programming and nesting systems. Prior experience in the steel industry would be an asset.

Depending on the candidate's aptitude the position may be tailored to fit.

Responsibilities:

Create and maintain technical drawings and blueprints using CAD/CAM & PEP software systems Develop and implement programs for Laser, Plasma, Press Brake, Beamcut, and Routers Developing and maintaining nesting efficiencies Liaise with the purchasing & sales team to ensure accurate production and customer requirements. Troubleshoot and debug programming issues as needed Work closely with other members of the team to ensure production runs smoothly Continuously improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency
Requirements:

Strong experience with CAD/CAM and / or PEP software systems or related. Ability to be trained and work with proprietary equipment systems Proficient math skills: particularly good basic arithmetic, estimating, ratios, and percentages. Proficiency with email and spreadsheet programs Knowledge of metal-processing techniques and equipment Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work well in a team environment Ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently Ability to read engineered drawings Previous experience in a steel centre environment is beneficial but not a requirement Sales experience and ability to communicate with the customer base would be an asset
Education:

Mech Tech degree, or CAD/CAM or related field or equivalent experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
