In this role, you will be working under the direct supervision of our Design team to complete various tasks within the domain of Telecommunication Outside Plant Engineering as

CAD Technician

. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare drawing files using different CAD tools from redline to As built. The role will include, but not limited to, preparing to scale drawings, submitting permit applications etc This opportunity will allow you to establish a real-world understanding of shallow and deep utility rules and regulations, and help you familiarize yourself with the industry standard and procedures. IVYBAUD Inc. will also require the selected candidate to have good verbal and written communication skills, ability to work as a team player, ready to take initiative and have excellent organizing skills.

You will help to complete the project life-cycle

Create CAD drawings from redline (concept) to final design (As-builts) that are drawn to scale, and prepared using GPS data, engineering calculations, specification sheets and data coming from various other sources Conduct quality review of drawings and keep record of the mistakes to help avoid revisions and repeated tasks. Prepare underground and aerial plant drawings in accordance with client and utility standards. Prepare block diagrams, title blocks and profile drawings in CAD Coordinate, to a certain degree, with municipal authorities, utilities & various project stakeholders to understand their requirements. Clearly communicate with clients and project stakeholders to identify project risks and expectations.

Qualification and Good-to-haves

Graduate of a technology program (Preferred civil or electrical) Or AutoCAD operator certificate Experience in software such as, SpatialNET, and MicroStation is an asset but not mandatory Understanding of easements and right-of-way is an asset but not mandatory Knowledge of layer management, and xreference data form various files knowledge of GIS databases, including Google Earth or ArcGIS Knowledge of importing data from survey files Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat with an aptitude for computer proficiency

Required to qualify

You have at least 6 months to 1 years of experience with AutoCAD You enjoy working towards deadlines instead of 8.00am to 4.00pm environment You have valid document to work in Canada You are willing to produce criminal background check , police clearance and driver's abstract (if Asked).

Contract (6 months, to be revised accordingly)

Pay

: $20.00- $25.00 per hour
