In this role, you will collaborate with architects, engineers, and production teams to transform design concepts into precise, buildable solutions. Your work will focus on developing detailed models, shop drawings, and fabrication details for light-frame and mass timber components across a wide range of projects, from custom single-family homes to commercial and institutional ventures.
The ideal candidate has experience in mass timber and panelized construction/detailing, CNC manufacturing processes, and is highly skilled at creating detailed 3D models.

BC Passive House is a leader in high-performance, sustainable building systems, based in the beautiful Pemberton Valley. We detail, manufacture, and install prefabricated light-panel and mass timber structures throughout Western Canada.
Our 38,000 sq. ft. production facility combines advanced CNC technology, 3D design, and skilled craftsmanship to provide offsite construction solutions for a wide array of residential and commercial projects.
Responsibilities
Create detailed 3D models and 2D CAD drawings for light-frame and mass timber components, including shop drawings, connection details, and production plans.
Communicate and collaborate with architects, structural engineers, project managers, production staff, trades, and suppliers to maintain design intent and ensure seamless construction.
Prepare optimized material take-offs, CNC cutting files, and loading plans.
Review and interpret architectural and structural designs, identifying and resolving potential conflicts.
Assist in developing BIM (Building Information Modeling) models and integrating them with project workflows.
Maintain and update the CAD library with standardized components and connection details.
Assist with project documentation, RFIs, change orders, and estimates.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Experience with CADwork (preferred) or other 3D modeling software.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, Cambium, and similar programs.
Ability to read and quickly conceptualize architectural and engineering drawings.
Background in wood construction, specifically prefabrication.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Experience with CNC programming and file preparation for automated manufacturing (a plus).
Knowledge of wood engineering principles, timber joinery, and connection detailing.
Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to manage timelines and work independently.
Professional verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external contacts.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $60,000 - $90,000
