Position Summary:



Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Designer(s) are responsible for utilizing CAD templates to create custom drawings based on customer requirements and site-specific building code(s), utilizing self and peer quality checks prior to sending to the Engineering Manager for approval and stamp.

Core Responsibilities:



Produce material calculations/analysis and associated paperwork Produce stair and landing drawings in CAD from architectural and structural drawings, ensuring all product specifications and deadlines are met Support model and template revisions and development Adherence to, and participation in, quality control measures, including project documentation, self/peer checks, engineering approval, and root cause analysis/process improvement Collaborate with internal and external parties throughout the design, review, and approval processes Other duties as may be required or assigned from time to time Adhere to and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures Complete safety training as required, wear required PPE, and engage in safe work practices

Qualifications & Competencies:



1 to 3 years experience in design/drafting, preferably in concrete, pre-cast, construction, or custom fabrication/production industries 1 to 3 years experience in AutoCAD or other related drafting tools/software Post-secondary education in Architectural Technology, Construction Engineering, Drafting, or other related field Ability to read and understand architectural drawings Ability to problem solve providing innovative solutions in tight timeframes Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and deliver results with a high attention to detail Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
Working knowledge of:

Blue Beam, or other drafting tools and principles; Relevant building codes and design standards (Canada and US); and Building structure(s)
