Our role as a central project resource ensures clarity, continuity, and accuracy throughout the project lifecycle. SMTL maintains as-built documentation, supports commissioning, and conducts quality reviews with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure project success.

Position Summary

We are seeking a

CAD Design/Drafting Technologist

to join our team at the Nutrien Patience Lake Mine Site. This is a full-time, 1 year contract position offering competitive compensation, benefits, and great career development opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, layouts, and assembly drawings for structural and mechanical projects Maintain accurate and up-to-date project drawings and documentation, including as-builts Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site personnel to ensure alignment on design specifications Contribute to solutions that enhance maintenance activities, safety procedures, and overall plant operations Ensure all work complies with client safety standards and policies

Qualifications

Diploma in Computer Aided Design and Drafting from a recognized post-secondary institution 1-5 years of experience using AutoCAD and Autodesk software Proficiency in 3D modeling and experience with structural and mechanical design Experience with Hexagon CADWorx Plant software is an asset Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to work alone and be self-motivated Must be legally eligible to work in Canada May be subject to a background check and drug and alcohol testing

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary:

$60,000 - $80,000 (commensurate with experience)

Schedule

10-hour shifts (Monday-Thursday) 7am to 5pm On-site position at the Nutrien Patience Lake Mine Site
