We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cable Technician to join our team. KBLE installs and services a broad range of systems such as: structured cabling, AV, security systems such as; access control, cameras, and intrusion, as well as fiber optic systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various cable and telecommunication systems.
This role requires a strong understanding of computer networking, electrical systems, and the use of hand and power tools. Prior experience with Ethernet, low voltage systems, fiber optic, security solutions, and telephony is highly desirable. Prior knowledge of cable system vendors such as Belden and Panduit is an asset.
We are also looking for enthusiastic newcomers looking to get a start in the industry.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and troubleshoot Ethernet and Fiber Optic networks and computer networking systems
Install, program and service various security systems such as: Access Control, Cameras and Intrusion
Install, program and service AV systems such as video conferencing and theater room set ups
Perform wiring, cabling, and termination of low voltage systems according to industry standards
Installation of EMT, PVC and Flex conduits as necessary as well as the installation of cable trays, server cabinets, and the use of power tools to complete such tasks
Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to assemble, repair, or modify cable infrastructure
Conduct system testing to ensure proper operation of network and telecommunication systems
Maintain detailed documentation of work performed and system configurations
Adhere to safety protocols when working with electrical components and low voltage systems
Qualifications
Proven experience or training in telecommunication installation and maintenance is an asset
Strong knowledge of Ethernet, computer networking, Fiber Optic, AV systems, and Security systems is an asset
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use various hand and power tools effectively
Familiarity with low voltage wiring, electrical systems, and telephony equipment
Understanding of telecommunication standards and best practices
Ability to read technical diagrams, schematics, and wiring layouts
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Relevant certifications or prior experience in electrical or telecommunication fields are a plus

Pay: $22.00-$38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 44 per week
