Hamilton Holmes is an award winning Design Studio with global recognition in the world of Furniture and Millwork. With projects ranging from residential millwork, to custom furniture, as well as an in-house Furniture line--the studio is always busy with new and exciting projects.
We are looking for a Cabinetry and Furniture Technologist to bolster our steady production schedule and add value to our existing systems. You will be working closely with our principal designer as well as our industry partners to bring exciting projects to life. The position works from an office at our Downtown Hamilton manufacturing facility and is full time 8am-5pm Monday to Friday.
An ideal candidate will be able to adjust to our Autodesk Inventor workflow, or propose alternative technology to accomplish cabinetry design and manufacturing.
Candidates with Cabinetry and Furniture design and manufacturing experience will be strongly considered.
Experience Required:
-2 years minimum in cabinetry and millwork.
-completion of interior projects from start to finish
-project management
Millwork Skills Required:
-the use of Autocad Inventor or comparable software programs to 3D model millwork
-create parametric custom assets to be used in the layout/ design process
-creation of custom assets for specific needs within overall designs (ie: appliance specs, custom assets etc.)
-the creation of technical drawings for our manufacturing team
-preparation of files to be exported to CNC-specifically cabinetry.
-preparation of schedules for production categories-parts, doors, drawers, cabinets, hardware etc
-the creation of technical drawings for our manufacturing team
Furniture Skills Required:
-Parametric 3D modelling with Fusion 360 or comparable software program
-to create flexible models for the design process as well as dimensionally flexible product designs
-to render in 3D for presentations to clients
-to engage with outsourced manufacturing via .DXF .STP or comparable files ie: 3 axis CNC layouts.
