Position Summary

The Cabinetmaker/Installer is responsible for finishing fabrication, delivery, and installation of countertops and other decorative surfaces, including fixtures. This position plays a key role in ensuring high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.

Colonial Countertops provides a company vehicle, fuel, and all required tools for this role.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications Select materials according to order sheets and complete fabrication tasks Maximize material usage while ensuring proper pattern and color match Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood and wood substitutes Fabricate and install side splashes on laminate countertops Safely transport countertops to designated job sites Inspect countertop sizes and quality prior to leaving the shop Protect customer property and ensure no damage occurs on-site Professionally and efficiently install countertops, ensuring seams are tight and fixtures properly installed Leave job sites clean and orderly after installation Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues as required Deliver a professional and positive customer service experience Complete accurate Install Reports with comments and photos daily Adhere to all company safety guidelines and procedures Maintain professional and technical knowledge Contribute to team success and perform additional duties as assigned Contribute to team effort and complete other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

Previous experience in laminate countertops, cabinetry installation, or a similar trade. Knowledge of the construction industry is an asset. Strong communication and customer service skills. Proven problem-solving skills to resolve installation challenges on-site. High attention to detail to ensure precision and quality. Familiarity with safety regulations and installation procedures. Ability to learn quickly, multitask, and perform under pressure in a team environment. Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. or more. Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
