The Cabinet Maker manufactures product according to drawings, details and instructions provided. The incumbent ensures timely manufacturing and delivery of high-quality products which meet client specifications.

REPORTS TO:
This position reports to the Production Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manufacture product according to drawings or instructions provided.
Interpret drawings and other specifications of articles to be constructed.
Trim joints and fit parts and sub-assemblies together to form complete units.
Ensure parts, sub-assemblies and finished products are labelled correctly.
Sand wooden surfaces
Prepare and assemble cabinets for installation.
Install cabinets and custom finishes at job sites.
Spray finish when required.
Clean and maintain work areas, including machinery and tools, to ensure a safe working environment.
Follow work and safety procedures as prescribed.
Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude.
Follow direction of lead hands when assigned too them.

Complete tasks in a defined time period, adjusting to changing priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of post-secondary training in cabinet making, carpentry or fine woodworking, considered an asset.
Minimum 2 years' experience working in a high-volume production environment in addition to a strong comprehension of metal and wood is required.
Experience with the fabrication of cabinets, furniture making, and general woodworking considered an asset.
Experience working with wood, metal, acrylic, laminate, and glass components.
Excellent verbal communication skills
Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Ability to visualize a finished product from drawings and other specifications.
