We have more than 700 locations in 70 countries.Position SummaryWe are currently recruiting for a Junior Adjuster to join our claims adjusting team in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.**This is a hybrid position based in Edmonton, Alberta. All applicants must attend the first 2 weeks of in person training on-site in our Edmonton, Alberta office.**At Crawford, employees are empowered to grow, emboldened to act, and inspired to innovate. This hiring program is designed to provide entry level candidates with an opportunity to learn from experienced claims professionals.The successful candidate will participate in ongoing training on various adjusting roles with the opportunity to shadow in different departments. Each individual in this training program will get an opportunity to work in 3-4 areas within their first two years on the job.Responsibilities

  • Investigation, collection, and analysis of claims information
  • Telephone interviewing claimants and witnesses
  • Directing field adjusters to obtain evidence
  • Obtaining official documents
  • Evaluates coverage, liability and quantum
  • Confirms and documents coverage
  • Assesses evidence and applies liability analysis
  • Reviews medical records and assesses and reserves for damages
  • Negotiates, settles, and finalizes claims
  • Negotiates with first and third parties
  • Obtains all documentation to complete claim
  • Facilitates payment and maintains bordereau
  • Accurate recording, reporting and presentation of files
  • Documents all activities on system
  • Reports promptly to principal
  • Maintains master claims file
  • Maintenance of accurate billing, and time and expense records
  • Completes accurate time capture and docketing
  • Generates and processes client invoicing
  • Work with manager to maintain client relations
  • Ensures compliance with client programs and standards
  • Answer and expeditiously resolve inquiries
Requirements
  • Knowledge of commercial and personal lines in both Property and Auto PD will be considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education in an insurance related field working towards full license and CIP designation
  • Ability to conduct telephone investigations, evaluate, negotiate and settle first and third party commercial lines claims
  • Proficient in maintaining accurate and detailed activity, transaction and reserve records
  • Advanced computer skills including Office 365 and Windows 10
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be a team player with a strong commitment to quality and customer service
  • French/English Bilingualism would be considered an asset
  • Commitment to continuous learning
