Job Title: C++ Software Engineer

Join our dynamic team as a C++ Software Engineer where you will lead and innovate in the development of safety-critical, real-time software solutions. You will be part of a team that works on cutting-edge space robotics technology with a legacy of supporting manned space missions. Responsibilities

• Lead designs for safety-critical, real-time software solutions.
• Mentor and develop the agile practitioner skills of team members through conversations and demonstrations.
• Ensure designs are well-documented and effectively communicated.
• Lead and participate in the implementation and testing of safety-critical, real-time software.
• Review the work of teammates and contribute to the skill development of junior team members through feedback and guidance.
• Lead estimation efforts for new tasks.
• Collaborate with colleagues and management to establish, evolve, and enforce coding standards, tools/environments, and processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management or team leads.

Required Skills:

• 10+ years of experience in C++ with some Embedded C work.
• Experience with RTOS.
• Proficiency in Object Oriented Design principles (OOD).
• Capability in training other developers and creating training materials/SOPs.

Assets:

• Experience with Embedded C.
• Familiarity with RTX64 or RTEMS.
• Knowledge of communication interfaces such as SPI, EtherCAT, CANOpen, etc.
• Experience with continuous integration/build automation.

Work Environment
Regular working hours are 40 hours per week with core hours from 9 am to 3 pm. You are required to be in the office for a minimum of three days a week, typically Tuesday to Thursday, with flexibility based on project needs. The work environment is collaborative, encouraging a collegial atmosphere where team members are happy to review and support each other.

This is a Contract position based out of Brampton, Ontario.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
