The Town of View Royal is a growing residential community in the Greater Victoria area with a population of approximately 11,575. Our waterfront community has scenic views of Esquimalt Harbour and Portage Inlet, as well as excellent parks and trails, including the Galloping Goose Regional Trail and Thetis Lake Regional Park. Ten minutes from downtown Victoria, View Royal\xe2\x80\x99s central location also provides good highway access to the Western Communities and to the Saanich Peninsula, including BC Ferries and the Victoria International Airport.

Bylaw Enforcement Officer

1 Regular Full-Time Position ($38.16 - $42.36/hour)

The Town of View Royal is seeking a customer-focused Bylaw Enforcement Officer interested in opportunities and the ability to influence positive changes in our community. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to interpret, explain, and achieve compliance with the Town\xe2\x80\x99s bylaws.

The Bylaw Enforcement Officer reports to the Director of Protective Services in a supportive, team-based environment and is primarily responsible for:

• Responding to inquiries and complaints from members of the public and staff;
• Performing investigations involving the enforcement of View Royal bylaws; and
• Providing high-level customer service and dealing with confrontational matters with tact and diplomacy.

The successful candidate you will have the following qualifications:

• A relevant diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution;
• By-Law Compliance, Enforcement, and Investigative Skills Level 1 or equivalent;
• Minimum 3 full-time years of bylaw enforcement experience;
• The ability to pass a Police Information Check (PIC); and
• A current and valid Class 5 B.C. Driver\'s Licence.
