POSITION: The District of Tofino is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the full-time position of Bylaw Enforcement Officer.
Reporting to the Manager of Protective Services, the Bylaw Enforcement Officer is responsible for the enforcement of District regulatory bylaws, approving and issuing licences and permits, and liaising with various government agencies. Work involves providing information and assistance to the public, carrying out patrols and investigations, gathering evidence, conducting inspections, and preparing all documentation necessary for the effective enforcement of District regulatory bylaws. The Bylaw Enforcement Officer also carries out routine office duties to maintain departmental files and records.

HOURS OF WORK This is a permanent, full-time position based on 40 hours per week. The hourly wage is $34.30.
This position is subject to a probationary period during which time the wage will be $30.87. The position offers a full range of benefits, including a pension plan, and is subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between CUPE Local 118 and the District of Tofino.
