Job Summary



As a Buyer/Planner, the incumbent will be responsible for purchasing maintenance parts and services to meet company and safety requirements.

This role will evaluate and analyze supplier quotes, negotiate prices in accordance with company budgets, maintain relationships with vendors and ensures orders are delivered on time to meet production requirements.

Primary Responsibilities



Responsible for sourcing, negotiating and selecting vendors from approved vendor listing that meet the company's quality, price and delivery requirements. Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliers. Communicate potential supplier issues impacting price, quality or delivery of requirement purchases. Summarize cost comparison and recommend potential suppliers. Review and analyze purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders. Ensure all requisitions have the appropriate documentation to secure goods or services. Monitor inventory levels to ensure minimum stock levels are maintained. Ensure timely delivery of items and follow up with vendors on late orders. Follow schedules to track deficiencies and expedite suppliers as required. Review invoices and resolves any discrepancies with the vendors. Maintain accurate records of purchases, prices, and other important data in accordance with regulations. Manage MRP Planning system (PM Program) and parameters in an effort to maintain appropriate levels of inventory to meet customer demand and service objectives. Ensures the ERP system is maintained and updated with the correct data. Support cost reduction activities. Ensure purchasing documentation is filed appropriately and easily accessible. Support team members with departmental tasks.

Required Qualifications



Minimum of (5) years working experience as a Buyer/Planner, preferably in the food manufacturing sector. Post-Secondary Education or University degree preferably in Supply Chain. Experience in a manufacturing setting is an asset. Good understanding of Supply Chain. Strong sense of urgency and time management skills with excellent initiative and follow up capabilities. Excellent negotiation skills, along with a mechanical aptitude. Demonstrated ability to coordinate purchasing responsibilities. Demonstrate strong communication skills, high level of motivation and ability to work independently or as a team player. Demonstrate organized, clear technical report writing skills. Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy; and be very organized. Strong problem solving and multitasking skills. Experience working with ERP system. Pay: $47,618.43-$65,000.00 per year
