Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer/Planner to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for procuring materials and supplies necessary for our operations while ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills and a solid understanding of supply chain processes, including MRP systems. Your expertise in sourcing and pricing will be crucial in maintaining optimal inventory levels and supporting our fabrication needs.

Responsibilities

Procure materials and supplies in alignment with production schedules and demand forecasts. Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve the best possible outcomes for the company. Collaborate with various departments to understand their material needs and ensure timely delivery. Monitor inventory levels, utilizing MRP systems to manage stock efficiently. Analyze market trends to identify potential sourcing opportunities and cost-saving measures. Maintain relationships with existing suppliers while actively seeking new vendors to enhance the supply chain. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding procurement processes. Prepare reports on purchasing activities, inventory levels, and supplier performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience in procurement or planning within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of supply chain principles and practices. Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems is highly desirable. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful vendor management. Ability to analyze data effectively and make informed decisions based on market trends. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
