Buyer, Window, Bath & Linens - Key Accountabilities

Overseeing Direct Reports\xe2\x80\x99 work and working behaviours

• Building a team of increasingly capable direct reports

• Leading team to the accomplishment of team goals

• Practicing continuous improvement of work processes and methods

Manage sales, gross margin, and inventory turns by optimizing peak demand timeframes to deliver established plans

Plan and manage product assortment strategies for assigned businesses that meet customer\'s needs by maintaining Giant Tiger\'s price leadership, and communicate with the stores to gain their support in order to drive sustainable growth

Manage OTB effectively to maintain a balance between preseason purchases and in-season liquidity

Coordinate promotional assortment to support themes & vision set out in the marketing calendar

Manage & Monitor that all safety, quality, and regulatory standards are being met to drive customer satisfaction with the product assortment

Manage the vendor strategy to support assortment and financial plans

Monitor adherence to the buying calendar to minimize disruptions in the product lifecycle

Maximize Omni-Channel assortment to enhance the customer shopping experience

Buyer, Window, Bath & Linens - Required Knowledge & Skills

Minimum 3 years in buying/category management

Proven track record of delivering results

Entrepreneurial category approach (takes calculated risks)

Able to communicate effectively and influence positively without authority

Passion for retail, customer service, and mentorship

Buyer, Window, Bath & Linens - Job Assets

Post-secondary degree/certificate preferred

People management experience preferred

Understanding of Omni-Channel retail

Proficiency in French

Strong knowledge of MS Office suite of products

Retail experience

JDA & BI experience

Familiarity with a franchise model

Travel Requirements

Travel required: domestic and/or overseas
