Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials essential to our distribution business. This role requires strong organizational skills, vendor management skills, and a solid understanding of supply chain processes. The Buyer will play a critical role in ensuring the timely availability of materials while optimizing costs and customer service.

Responsibilities

Manage current database of product SKU's. Ensure product descriptions and price are accurate. Create new product codes as needed Monitor inventory levels using current reports and coordinate timely purchasing to prevent shortages or excess stock Source and evaluate potential vendors to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with current and potential suppliers to secure favorable agreements. Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, delivery schedules Conduct vendor evaluations and manage ongoing vendor relationships to ensure compliance with quality standards and delivery timelines Be aware of market trends and pricing fluctuations to make informed sourcing decisions Support continuous improvement initiatives within procurement processes and supply chain operations

Requirements

Ability to speak and write in English and French Proven experience in purchasing or procurement environment Strong knowledge of ERP systems, Familiarity sourcing strategies, vendor management, and negotiation techniques Excellent communication skills for effective negotiation and relationship building with suppliers Ability to analyze data related to pricing, and inventory levels Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple procurement projects simultaneously Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics is highly desirable Ability to work collaboratively across departments to meet production schedules and operational needs

Pay: $44,782.46-$90,101.68 per year
