We are currently looking for an experienced Buyer to join our project team here in St. John\'s, NL.

What will you be doing?

• Secure materials and equipment prior to execution of work scope with continued focus on HSEQ and client specifications
• Liaise technical clarifications and amendments between supplier and Aker hookup.
• Expedite material and equipment to ensure on time delivery with attentions to receipt and approval of specified documentation
• Communicate with Commissioning Team to secure technical and budgetary approvals
• Preparing purchase ordering, analyzing and evaluating bids, and making recommendations
• Obtaining complete descriptions of items required and ensuring purchase requisitions are properly authorized
• Obtaining competitive quotations, prices, or tenders from potential suppliers
• Confirm purchasing requirements
• Make recommendations related to project scope changes and gain an understanding of the impact on other projects
• Advise Materials/Procurement Manager on factors that potentially affect the acquisition of required goods and services

We think you should have:

• Post secondary degree or diploma in a Business-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum 5 years\' experience working in a procurement role for engineering or construction projects
• Procurement Management Association Certificate (PMAC) is desirable
• Proficiency in standard methods and established procedures
