Job summary:
Under the supervision of the Supply Chain Director, the buyer will be responsible for purchasing parts for the manufacture of architectural lighting.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Monitor stock levels daily, purchase parts in back order or at their re-order point
  • Negotiate prices, lead times, payment discounts
  • Place orders and follow up with suppliers as well as internal and external coordination for goods and services under their responsibility
  • Actively participate to reduce costs, rationalize inventory in your portfolio
  • Maintain data related to items and suppliers in the ERP system
  • Support the new product development team for the purchasing portion
Experience (minimum experience required)

Requirements of the role:
  • Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Operations and Production Management or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years experience with the complete Supply Chain cycle (search, cost analysis, negotiation, sample buying and quality control)
  • Written and verbal bilingualism (French and English) communication with suppliers outside Quebec
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector (essential)
  • Experience working with different parts and materials (steel, aluminum, plastic, electrical / electronic components, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of purchasing, logistics, planning and material control functions
  • Good knowledge of ERP (Dynamics AX asset)
  • Negotiation and sourcing (Asset)

  • Sense of priorities and solution-oriented
