The Buyer is an integral part of the Simmtech and Ensight Solutions Purchasing Team, and reports to the Purchasing Manager. The Buyer will work closely with Operations Manager, Business Unit Manager, Project Managers, Finance, and other Cross-Functional Teams across the organization. They will be responsible for the procurement of materials, components, and 3rd party services to support the most efficient and cost-effective process for numerous projects. The Buyer will play a key role in the implementation of Syteline ERP System at Simmtech, ensuring data is entered correctly and accurately maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchase Order & Cost Tracking Duties:
Create, review, and maintain project purchase orders in the ERP/accounting system.
Ensure all vendor POs are aligned with project budgets and approved authorizations.
Track actual costs versus committed costs for each project.
Maintain inventory files and filing systems
Work closely with Project Managers, Business Unit Manager, and Operations Manager to ensure projects adhere to framework, deadlines, and that documentation is maintained properly.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, 3rd party service providers, and customers.
Work directly with the Purchasing Manager and Business Unit Manager to generate productivity savings for the organization through sourcing and pricing negotiations.
Project Cost Tracking & Reporting Duties:
Maintain project cost sheets and reconcile with general ledger/project accounting system.
Identify and communicate cost variances vs. estimates or budgets; flag overruns early.
Support monthly project cost forecasts and budget-to-actual variance analysis.
Ensure costs are correctly coded to respective projects and cost centers.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business or a related field of study.
ERP experience (Syteline a plus).
Three years of experience in a related field.
Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Experience using computers for a variety of tasks and competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Knowledge of file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures.
Ability to work on tight deadlines.
Display professionalism and courtesy when working with customers, suppliers, outside parties, and co-workers.
