We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Butcher/Meat Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, butchery, and food handling, ensuring high-quality meat cuts and maintaining food safety standards. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment where precision, cleanliness, and customer service are essential to success. The Butcher/Meat Cutter will be responsible for preparing meat products according to company specifications while adhering to all safety regulations.
Duties
Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat products following established guidelines and recipes
Ensure all meat is handled and stored in compliance with food safety standards
Package meat products securely for retail display or customer orders
Maintain cleanliness of work stations, tools, and equipment to meet sanitation requirements
Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and reporting shortages or issues
Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products and offering recommendations when needed
Follow all food safety protocols during meat handling, processing, and packaging
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality product output
Skills
Proven experience in food industry roles, particularly in butchery or meat cutting
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety regulations
Skilled in meat cutting, trimming, and portioning with precision and consistency
Ability to handle food products safely and hygienically at all times
Experience with packaging meat products for retail or wholesale distribution
Excellent customer service skills to assist customers effectively
Kitchen experience or background in food handling is highly desirable
Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to work efficiently under pressure
