We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team in providing high-quality meat products to our customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety practices. As a Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and packaging various types of meat while ensuring the highest standards of quality and customer service.
Responsibilities
Cut, trim, and prepare various cuts of meat according to specifications.
Ensure all meat products are handled in compliance with food safety regulations.
Ability to safely operate meat processing equipment (e.g., band saws, slicers, grinders)
Strong attention to detail and knife skills
Understanding of proper food handling, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of meat for various customers.
Requirements
Proven experience in the food industry, particularly in meat cutting or butchering.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as required.
Certification in food handling is preferred but not mandatory.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Formal training or certification in meat cutting, culinary arts, or food safety.
Experience working in a high-volume retail, grocery, or butcher shop setting.
Customer service experience and ability to provide meat preparation advice.
Knowledge of inventory management and product rotation.
Basic math skills for weighing, labelling, and inventory.
Experience
Butchery and Meat Cutting:
Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience (required)
Soft Skills:

Reliable and punctual

Due to limited public transportation options in the area, reliable personal transportation is strongly recommended.
