Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and a strong commitment to food safety and quality. As our butcher, you will be responsible for preparing and portioning retail cuts from sub-primal and whole animal, as well as weekly fresh sausages, ensuring that all products meet our high standards for freshness and presentation. Your expertise in meat cutting and customer service will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional experience to our customers.

Responsibilities

Cut, trim, and prepare various cuts of meat according to specifications. Ensure all meat products are handled safely and comply with food safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the meat preparation area. Package meat products for display and sale, ensuring proper labeling. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and assisting customers with their selections. Collaborate with team members to maintain inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Monitor product quality and freshness, discarding any items that do not meet standards. Stay informed about new products, techniques, and trends in the meat industry.

Requirements

Availability Wednesday-Sunday 10am-6pm. Proven experience in whole animal butchering is necessary. Strong knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers. Familiarity with food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as necessary. A passion for the food industry and commitment to delivering high-quality products.
