Job Overview

The Busser/Dishwasher plays an essential role in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient dining environment. This position supports both the front and back of house by resetting tables quickly, assisting servers, and ensuring a steady supply of clean dishes and utensils. The ideal candidate is energetic, reliable, and able to keep up with fast-paced breakfast rushes.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusser Duties

Clear, clean, and reset tables quickly and efficiently. Ensure tables are properly set according to Pur & Simple standards (cutlery, napkins, condiments, etc.). Assist servers by delivering water, coffee refills, or additional items when needed. Keep dining room, drink stations, and service areas clean and well stocked. Maintain cleanliness of front-of-house areas including floors, counters, and high-touch surfaces. Assist with guest requests when appropriate and provide friendly, attentive service.

Dishwasher Duties

Operate commercial dishwasher safely and efficiently. Wash dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, and pans according to sanitation standards. Properly sort, dry, and store clean items in their designated areas. Maintain cleanliness of dish pit, including sinks, floors, and equipment. Take out garbage and recycling as needed, following restaurant procedures. Ensure steady availability of clean dishes during busy service periods.

Cleanliness & Safety

Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines. Use cleaning chemicals safely and report any equipment issues immediately. Participate in daily and weekly cleaning tasks for both front and back of house.

Teamwork & Communication

Work closely with servers, line cooks, and managers to support fast and efficient service. Communicate when supplies or dishware are running low. Assist with additional duties during peak times to support overall restaurant operations.

Qualifications & Skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, especially during breakfast rush hours. Strong work ethic and attention to detail. Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs. Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays. No prior experience required--training provided.
