Business Value Director
Location: Telecommuting / remote from within the US or Canada Our Business Value Team consists of high caliber professionals hired directly from Industry or top consultancy firms that help our most strategic customers define and address their most complex technological and business challenges. We are currently looking for an experienced Director to join this team. For decades Oracle has supported the largest and most advanced companies in the world, and we are now looking to expand our relationships by hiring a team of senior leaders (based across the US and Canada) with a successful track record in building, driving and delivering technology-led complex transformation programs. With a strong understanding of application and/or platform modernization to cloud or new cloud digital platforms, we are expecting you to bring first-hand experience in some of the key technologies and approaches: Cloud – primarily IaaS and experience in Sovereign/Private clouds, IT modernization approaches, application driven transformation. It is also essential to be able to speak the language of customers, be they business or technology leaders. As a Technology Cloud Transformation Director, you will be expected to orchestrate and lead large engagements and assemble the right team. You primary focus will be helping Oracle’s existing Strategic Clients modernize their IT estate to cloud. You will be involved through the entire engagement cycle from discovery through to working with our professional service team and SI partners to ensure a comprehensive modernize or transformation program is in place. You must have proven ability to drive engagement and adoption with clients. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and extend relationships with Oracle largest and most strategic clients throughout the US and Canada, being capable to connect with client execs in multiple functions and roles
  • Work closely with Oracle Strategic Client Directors to identify their client’s imperatives, develop and propose solutions to those and then shape and nurture the engagement through to bid stage
  • Lead in developing the account penetration strategy with the Client Executives
  • Drive the design and delivery of complex technology modernization & transformation programs for Strategic Clients, throughout the definition of the hypothesis, discovery and proposal phases, up to setting up joint governance proposals for implementation
  • Orchestrate multi-LOB bid and engagement teams with senior experts from sales, pre-sales, consulting, and solution architecture to help shape and drive the largest technology opportunities in the US and Canada
  • Participate in and/ or ensure quality in client engagements with the most strategic clients and deliver increased client satisfaction and better opportunities for Oracle
  • Prepare and deliver thought-provoking executive proposals to engage customers in long-term business relationships
  • Multi-disciplined: continually evolve & innovate to bring new ideas for investment and areas of potential to the table
  • Facilitate cross-functional discovery sessions to identify and prioritize key business value drivers
  • Author thought leadership content on cloud benefits, key technology trends and "all things value"
  • Act as a value subject matter expert in account planning sessions and quarterly business reviews
  • Serve as a thought example and where impactful - define and create sector-specific collateral and thought leadership pieces including white papers, data sheets, and social media posts
  • Bring a mind-set of ‘The Customer defines their success’ - Bond over their problems not our solutions
  • Act as key source of market insights into how our clients operate and into client decision making
  • Demonstrate outstanding analytical and problem solving skills; exceptional ability to structure complex problems, develop hypotheses, and present well-supported solutions

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5-8+ years combined experience in similar roles in leading organizations, especially top tier strategic consulting companies or value functions in industry companies or technology vendors
  • Must have worked on large modernization, transformational projects or change programs
  • Deep expertise in Cloud strategy definition and execution, focusing on IT modernization, Cloud Operations, digitization, client experience, AI/ML, automation
  • Passionate about enabling digital solutions and cloud and pushing the limits towards next levels of technology adoption
  • Action oriented with passion for fast movement but understanding the need for exceptional quality
  • Able to gain trust and credibility operating at CxO or Head of BU stakeholder levels
  • Fluency in English is a must; proficiency in French a plus
  • Willingness to travel to client locations for delivering key presentations (up to 30% of time)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret market data
  • Very strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to orchestrate and collaborate with diverse team members and external parties
  • Ability to engage, support and motivate virtual teams and to oversee a variety of work streams simultaneously
  • Outstanding oral and written presentation communication skills

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Responsible for leading business-focused, enterprise-level, architecture initiatives; engaged with business/IT customer stakeholders, partners, and Oracle sales and consulting teams; developing a customer*s architecture vision, future state architectures, and implementable architecture roadmaps in the context of solutions Oracle can offer; using Oracle's EA framework, processes and portfolio; calculating and expressing the value of those solutions to the customer; able to align a customer*s business strategy and objectives with an enabling Oracle based IT architecture and infrastructure.

Facilitates collaborative architecture development sessions with customer, IT and/or LOB executives. Analyzes and creates architecture models based on continuous feedback loop with key customer personnel. Implements and guides customer architecture teams in using EA frameworks, governance and architecture process. Leverages existing industry and Oracle reference architectures and utilizes specialty architecture knowledge. Influences and recommends architecture solutions and roadmaps to customer IT and/or LOB executives. Understand IT challenges and current state, influence IT strategy, suggest suitable Oracle products and services, collaborate on architecture development and future state of roadmap, collaborate with implementers on transition plan. Influence customers towards a recommended business/IT architecture anchored by Oracle solutions articulating its value to the customer.

Relevant Oracle Architect certification such as Oracle Enterprise Architect or Oracle Business Architect. Certification must be obtained within the first 12 months of entering the role if new hire. Strong analytical, facilitation and communication skills (informal, formal, written, verbal and graphical). Experience applying Enterprise and Business architecture and IT frameworks such as TOGAF, FEA/DODAF, MIT-Sloan, Zachman, Gartner, ITIL and COBIT. 12+ years of experience working with customers at an enterprise level. Enterprise and/or Business architecture credentials are highly valued. B.S. or B.A. college degree (or higher) preferred.
