The team: Scotiabank\xe2\x80\x99s Global Systems Operations Centre (GSOC) is a unique area which spans the bridge between development/project support and providing production services. The key elements of the area focus upon project support and maintenance of operational aids such as output management, code control, and automation of application balancing as well as environment builds and application testing and are key to the continued success.
The role: You are a part of a team that\xe2\x80\x99s responsible for the consistent delivery and completion of Production processing and service and infrastructure monitoring. This include maintaining service to business partners and branches.
When required, you will be a part of after-hours project deployments in the evenings or weekends.

• You are eager to perform infrastructure applications tools to ensure operational risk is mitigated to prevent service outages and monetary impact to the bank.
• You thrive on consistently meeting and/or exceeding user expectations pertaining to the delivery of critical processing through the provision of first-line technical support activities.
• When called upon, you want to play a vital role in system recovery; expedient service restoration; scheduled maintenance on weekends and as well, data security & code promotions activities.
• You thrive in providing technical support to various user groups and/or acts as a liaison between various competing interests in the timely processing and completion of high-profile project implementations.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

• You have excellent communication (verbal & written) skills to ensure incidents/problems are understood and documented accordingly.
• You have at least 2+ years of hands-on technical working experience in an IT operations-based environment.
• You have at least 1 year of hands-on technical working experience in the use of IBM\xe2\x80\x99s Robot console for IBM i (formerly known as AS/400 or i5/OS).
• You have at least 1 year of working experience in the use of vendor applications such as Symcor\xe2\x80\x99s Document Communication Management and/or Broadridge\xe2\x80\x99s PostEdge and/or IBM\xe2\x80\x99s Host OnDemand. Otherwise, you possess the propensity to quickly learn how to use these vendor applications.
• You have at least 1 year of working experience in the use of an industry leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) product for invoice processing.
• You can demonstrate at least 1 year of working experience in producing a business case(s) for project(s).
• You possess working knowledge of industry leading monitoring tools.
• You can demonstrate project management skills.
• You can function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• You can adapt to change in process/procedure to accommodate our customers while focusing on risk mitigation and customer service.
• You have excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple problems from simple to complex concurrently.
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, or in a related field.
